Attention! Young Adults Seminar by RBC

PEOPLE!

This is really a last minute post for an RBC Seminar scheduled tomorrow at St Andrew's cathedral. Both me and Pris are really interested in attending (Plus go see see the beautiful church as well!!), yeah but of course, the teachings on a lasting relationship in a messed up world.

I really feel that it is quite apt for some of us in this point of our lives now. (Come on, let's now be shy about this! LoL) And yes, I pray that this would enrich and encourage all of us in one way or another regarding the complicated issues of love and relationship in this sin depraved society of ours today!

Attached are the details. Know that this is really last minute, but if can come, COME! We'll go together and learn together! We'll confirm via sms ba!

RBC Ministries Youth Bible Teaching

In conjunction with the Bible conference, RBC Ministries is also holding a Youth Bible Teaching session. Rev. Paul Baxendale is the speaker for this event as well. In today's world of fleeting encounters, youth often find it challenging to establish a meaningful and lasting boy-girl relationship. Currently in his late thirties, Paul's relatively young age helps him connect with youth effectively as he seeks to provide spiritual guidance based upon the unchanging Word of God.

Designed for young people between the ages of 13 and 25, the event details are as follows:

Title: A Lasting Relationship In A Messed Up World
Speaker: Rev. Paul Baxendale
Date: 13 July 2010 (Tuesday)
Time: 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Venue: St Andrew's Cathedral, New Sanctuary.

If you have any queries, please e-mail or contact us at 6858-0900.

2010 June: Young Adult Combined Cell Meeting

Greetings BASICs,

As mentioned at the beginning of the month, we will be having the our combined young adult cell meeting this coming Friday, 25 Jun 2010.

The venue is at Mary’s Kafe at Kum Yan Methodist Church (on Queen’s Street).

How to get there? It's at the street next to the Singapore Art Museum (along Bras Basah Road). It's also about 7 mins walk from Bugis MRT or City Hall MRT, and a stone’s throw away from the Bras Basah Circle Line MRT station. If you are driving, places that you can park can be found at:
  1. NTUC Income Centre (car park entrance is from Queen Street itself)
  2. Hotel Royal @ Queens
  3. Blk 642 Waterloo Centre (HDB basement carpark)
Should you want to meet and go together, drop me a SMS. I'm sure we can arrange something. ;)

Last but not least, you are strongly encouraged to attend. Adriel and Priscilla are putting up a special item on behalf of our cell. Naturally, I look forward to your earnest participation to show your support, for we are all a single body of Christ. :)

Our love to God is measured by our everyday fellowship with others and the love it displays.

Preparation for Cell: 16 Jun 10

Dear all bros and sis,

We will be beginning on Convictions Chapter 5 this coming cell, and as below are the questions assigned to each team for pre-cell research. :) Do highlight to me if you are not able to make it (especially for rostered members except Adriel and Priscilla) so that I can make advance planning and adjustments. Thanks much!

Preparation for Questions (don't know which team you belong to?):
  • Priscilla's Team - 1. What is a cult?

  • Stanley's Team - 2. What are the differences between a cult and traditional Christianity?

  • Adriel's Team - 3. How do you deal with a cult member who has joined your house group?

  • Gabriel's Team - 4. What is the best way to deal with a cult member who is knocking at your door?

Let's all be prepared for this coming cell. God bless one and all! :)

02 Jun 10: Memory Verse

Numbers 23:19 (NIV)
God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?

Preparation for Cell: 26 May 10

Hi BASICs,

Please take note of the questions to be discussed tomorrow. :) Do highlight to me if you are not able to make it (especially for rostered members) so that I can make advance planning and adjustments. Thanks much!

Worship Lead: Adriel

Preparation for Questions (don't know which team you belong to?):
  • Priscilla's Team - 12. Wrong belief system results in wrong action, but oftentimes practitioners see no wrong. Cite some modern day examples.

  • Stanley's Team - 10. In place of a right relationship with God, man has devised many poor substitutes - false religion, idolatry, cults, theories of evolution, atheism, New Age Movement, astrology, witchcraft, occultism, Satanism, etc. Select any three and discuss.

  • Adriel's Team - 13. Truth must have a point of reference. As Christians, where is our point of reference? Why?

  • Gabriel's Team - 11. Who is God to you? Identify some of His qualities. How does it affect you?

See you all tomorrow! :)

19 May 10: Memory Verse

Isaiah 43:1-5a (NIV)
1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

Preparation for Cell: 19 May 10

Hi BASICs,

Some updates:
  • Please pray for Priscilla's uncle who was admitted to hospital for breathlessness yesterday. He has a condition of liver cancer. Stage of health is unknown now, but do pray in proxy for him.
  • Troven's audition into Praislight was a success! Praise God!

Please take note of the questions to be discussed for next week. :) Do highlight to me if you are not able to make it (especially for rostered members) so that I can make advance planning and adjustments. Thanks much!

Worship Lead: Stanley

Preparation for Questions (don't know which team you belong to?):
  • Priscilla's Team - 8. Give reasons why the theories of reincarnation cannot stand (see Hebrews 9:27).

  • Stanley's Team - 7. What are the devastating implications on young people if they truly believe in the theories of evolution?

  • Adriel's Team - 6. Why are there so many different theories of evolution?

  • Gabriel's Team - 9. Just because everyone is sincere but is taking a different route to the same place, we should all be tolerant. Do you agree with that? Please discuss.

May you all have a fruitful week dwelling in God's Word! God bless and catch up next week! :D
